Digital Equipment & Recycling

Access to technology and reliable connectivity has become essential for participating in everyday life, from accessing healthcare and education to finding work and staying connected with family. Without the right tools, many individuals risk being left behind in an increasingly digital world.

To meet this need we work with partners to supply essential hardware, data SIMs, and internet access, while managing responsible electronic waste recycling.

By working with partner networks like ITSA, Donate IT, and Jangala, we distribute refurbished laptops, tablets, and smartphones to residents in need, alongside advice on adaptive tools like styluses or alternative keyboards for added accessibility. We can help provide Wi-Fi hubs and portable hotspots, while offering basic setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance support through Fix IT so devices remain functional over time.

We also have access to SIMs with data for phones and tablets from the National Databank through partnerships with the Good Things Foundation.

Removing barriers to education

A mother reached out to a local digital hub because she lacked the necessary hardware for her daughter’s education. Without access to a personal laptop, the student was blocked from participating in her at-home tutoring sessions.

Through our partnership with the ITSA Digital Trust, the hub was able to access a Chromebook which the young person used for to access her virtual learning environment. They now have reliable access to directly improve her studies, with a great positive outcome.
